I know. I guess it makes things more lively. Keeps the wheels of gossip turning.
Oh, you mean should we be worried about his mental well-being? [...] I don't know Crysta very well, but she does seem to get under his skin. Maybe I shouldn't have helped her gang up on him.
The vibes in the research lab are going to be so toxic this year. I kind of love it. Until we're in the middle of it.
We're morally obligated to gang up on him when he acts like that. If we're simply bystanders, we become complicit in his anti-zodiac agenda.
[...] Anyway, that may just be his dynamic with Crysta, I don't know. He was like that with Gavin, too. [...] I guess I'm worried that he'll drive her away and end up regretting it. [...] Although it's not like we can say that to him.
You have a talent for getting through messes like this unscathed, so you'll probably have a an exciting year learning all of the office secrets. As for me, I can always excuse myself and visit medical.
I only believe in the zodiac when you're telling me it's real, or Enoch is telling me it's fake.
Ah, yes, well. She seems resilient. Maybe she'll find a way to get him to warm up to her. [...] If I say anything, it'll just make him do the exact opposite. What if I pretend to dislike her so that he's forced to come to her defense?
I assume you just overextended yourself trying to control the situation?
Oh, it's nothing. It was the most useful I could be at the moment. You might be surprised, but it's been a while since I've had to set bones or stitch up gashes.
After getting my doctorate, I realized that I'd likely be working in or adjacent to hospitals. If there was ever an emergency, I wanted to be able to help.
My abilities are what they are. I tried to stay as long as I could, but [...] it was impractical. [...] But everything in the medical wing has slowed down, and there were no critical injuries. Honestly, we were all very lucky. A non-liminal animal of that size (or even half!) is more than capable of killing a human being, whether or not they can do magic tricks.
I want to say it's thanks to our excellent planning and training, but I'd be partially lying.
No. At least not the attack on the research building. The explorers are accustomed to running into trouble, of course, but usually it doesn't come so close to home.
Once you die, all bodily functions cease. Just like your neurons stop firing, your powers will also immediately stop. We decompose just like any other living thing. It's unlikely that your corpse would have any impact on the liminality of the plants, bacteria, insects and animals that fed on it.
Some Liminals have unique physiology that might require extra caution, but I don't think that would be the case for you. We won't know for sure until you die, obviously, but ideally that won't be anytime soon.
Can I ask what brought this on?

Okay, excellent. This is all good to know. Thank you for the info (and for taking me seriously).
Was just spitballing some funeral plans with Rory, making sure there wouldn't be a negative impact on the environment (I told him to throw me in the trash, he suggested compost, it spiralled from there).
I'm not planning on dying anytime soon, but I reckon it's best to be prepared, especially in this line of work.
It's very responsible to consider your funeral preferences earlier rather than later. If you like, I have some paperwork I can send you to fill out regarding your death plan. In it you can express your preferred method of [...]corpse disposal burial, including composting. Alongside other more personal, sentimental aspects. Then we can put it on file in case of a tragedy.
Going over it with Rory could be an exciting afternoon.

I'm always willing to answer strange questions. And what we talk about will always remain between us.
It's not always comfortable to examine, but I think it can bring a unique sort of peace and comfort. The knowledge that if the worst happens, your loved ones know what you wanted.
Oh, that. I'm alive, nothing was seriously damaged, none of our research was lost. No one suffered critical injuries. Honestly, I'm amazed by our luck.

A) Would the resulting plants nourished by said compost be liminal?
And
