Yes. He was created and then immediately abandoned, left without any explanation for why he was what he was, universally rejected from human society. However, he could also be incredibly cruel and violent. There's some justification that he was really only shown human cruelty and violence during his life, but... that's a very pessimistic assessment of humanity. That if we're treated poorly, all we can do is treat others poorly in turn.
